On June 20, the International Association of Packaging Research Institutions (IAPRI) announced at the closing ceremony of the 24th World Packaging Conference held in Valencia, Spain that the 25th World Packaging Conference in 2026 will be hosted by Hunan University of Technology.
Founded in 1971, IAPRI is a non-profit international organization composed of packaging research institutions, universities and educational institutions, packaging professional groups, etc. from all over the world. It is the most authoritative in the international packaging academic community. Hunan University of Technology was accepted as a member of the organization in the early 1980s and was the first unit in my country to join the organization.
The World Packaging Conference is held by IAPRI every even-numbered years. It is the most international world-class packaging industry conference and is hosted by influential packaging education institutions and packaging research institutions around the world using a competitive mechanism. Since 1971, the conference has been held three times in my country in 1996, 2006 and 2018.
